Artarmon night market rocks

The APA finished off the year on a high note when president Ross Dickson presented a $500 cheque donation from the Artarmon Progress Association (APA) to local charity fundraiser Ben Middleton.

Ben had just returned to Sydney from a 7-week motorbike tour around Australia to raise money for a new project at Sydney Children’s Hospital to pilot a specialty treatment program for abused children (August Gazette, p8).

APA’s donation helped towards the $109,872 Ben has raised so far to reach his ambitious $150,000 target.

The cheque presentation took place to record crowds at APA’s successful night market at Wilkes Ave, which was filled with plenty of stalls selling everything from cupcakes and pancakes to clothes and flowers.

One of the Artarmon Public School bands was part of the popular entertainment and mayor Pat Reilly and Councillor and ex-APA president Michelle Sloane opened the festivities.
